I made these when I was a kid! It was the first thing we made in Home Economics class. So easy and fun but unfortunately they are not gluten free. I mixed the cookies up and Amelia put candy eggs in each nest. We took them to great grandma's house for Easter.
Bird's Nest Cookies
1 12 oz bag of milk or semi sweet chocolate chips
1 12 oz bag of butterscotch chips or peanut butter chips
1 12 oz bag of Chow Mein Noodles
The great thing is you can mix and match the flavors or you can do all chocolate or all butterscotch. What ever your little heart desires. Just make sure you stick with 24 oz of candy chips to 12 oz of Chow Mein noodles. Melt the candy in a double boiler or microwave then pour over the chow mein noodles and mix together until they are coated well. Put spoonfuls of the mixture on parchment paper then top with any egg shaped candies before the cookies set up so the candies will stick to them. Let harden completely.
